Insights questions on the use of Steel Design

Re: opinions questions about using ideCAD Steel 8 Hello; Unfortunately, in the current program, it is not possible to model elements with variable cross-section and to get reports by designing. Your request has been noted. Good work.

opinions and questions about the use of ideCAD Steel 8 There was a training video for Steel Ladder, I watched it. I can't find any more. I think this was the description of the project.

Re: opinions questions about using ideCAD Steel 8 Hello; Although the project does not give an error in the design controls of steel columns and beams in the steel design menu, when I receive a report, the cross-sectional dimensions are insufficient and many columns and beams fail. What is the reason?

link is part 1 and Be sure to watch part 2. There are too many modeling errors in your project. This is why problems occur. The highlights in the first place are as follows: 1) Laying in the program; It is used in accordance with the civil engineering literature, that is, it is defined on the steel beams and secondary beams inside the floor, as in your model, the floor should not be defined on the exterior. In this way, the floors cannot transfer the load correctly and the design cannot be done correctly. For the exterior, define a purlin between the steel columns and define the coating on it, or define the coating directly on the columns. 2) Your main steel beams; You have divided it from the sections where the auxiliary beams come from, you do not need to divide if such a connection will not be made in the field. You can define your main beams as one piece, from columns to columns or beams coming from another direction. You don't need to divide by every intersection like Sap2000. 3) It seems that you are designing with high ductility level and R=8 in analysis settings. To be economical, you can use R= 5 and Normal ductility level as permitted by our Earthquake Code. Rebuild your model by watching the videos. If you still have problems, send the final version of your project. Good work.

Re: Opinions and questions about the use of ideCAD Çelik 8 I request you to review the attached file and share your views. What are my deficiencies in terms of geometry, design and regulation?

Re: opinions questions about using ideCAD Steel 8 Hello; There does not appear to be any modeling problem in your project. There is no problem in terms of analysis and design. In the structure you entered and designed, you provided the stability with moment transferring frames. However, another steel carrier system design where you can provide stability more appropriately is 'Central Braced System'. Due to the structure of this system, you can use braces to provide vertical and horizontal stability. It is especially important that you provide stability in the lateral direction on the roof. Floor displacements report is created if there is a diaphragm in the structure. Since you do not have any slab entrance, you have to control the displacement of the structure yourself. As in this project, in structures that do not contain diaphragms and in random structures; As in other programs, the engineer himself has to control the floor displacements. If the formulas specified in DBYBHY 2007 Section 2.10 are used; If we check the UX displacement of the S01 column in the EX loading on the A-1 axis; Before obtaining the drawings, be sure to enter all combinations and check for overlap. Good work.

Re: Opinions about the use of ideCAD Steel 8 questions Hello, for the final homework, I was asked to make the necessary analysis of a steel structure on ideCAD, and also to design by putting shoes on and calculate the cost Is there anyone who can help with this, please help. I need to do my homework :)

Hello Left shift key Ortho ( It's already a shortcut to the vertical command. If you want to change it, you can do it from the customize/keyboard dialog in the classic menu.
