When defining cassette flooring, you are giving a reference line. The first interval of the tape starts from that line. The teeth are lined up one after the other according to the spacing.The last tooth is the remaining distance according to the floor opening.The line you choose as the reference line is important for the cassette balancing.You should choose the right line according to the intervals you give.
