Too much reinforcement in a polygon column

Hello friends, I made L-shaped polygon columns on the sides of the elevator, as a result of the analysis, too much reinforcement like 65 is thrown, and the quantity is too much. I was asked to reduce the reinforcements, what can I do? I read somewhere that the program sees it like a column, it throws too much reinforcement, if it defines it like a curtain, it wouldn't throw that much reinforcement, how true is it? can you help me
