A simple question??

There is a staircase in the middle of the room I created from the beam. It stays in the middle like an island. I am trying to create a stairwell in the slab by turning it around with the slab edge. it doesn't happen when i try to define tiling outside. It only allows me to define tiling for the entire room or the inside of the tile edge. what is the reason of this? If I can't do it at all, can I create a floor space like we do in chimneys? I finished the whole project, I just couldn't create a space for some stairwells, this pissed me off...
 
I think it is not correct to make large gaps in the slab with "floor gap". I don't know about your project, but I think you should go with a beam system.
