8.5 Update

Hi Ismail, I also experienced it, but mine is self-resolving. That is, when I say ctrl+shift for the first time, the project in memory comes up without anything, but when I try it the second time it is fixed. that is, when I do the same action twice, it gets fixed.

The best of the changes made in the program was to select the element and combination and copy it. Congratulations .

Hello, Idecad steel is running in 8.5 version, it frequently closes from the program after the stop working error warning. This is getting very annoying. What is the reason?

Hello there; What action you take in your project, there are breakages, can you summarize the last few steps and share your project? All bugs found in version 8.5 are being collected and resolved quickly. Therefore, we need to know the problems you are experiencing. Good work.

8.5 v good luck. If you excuse me, I have some questions. -None of the previous versions provide ground floor rigidity, especially for structures over 21.50 mt. I guess it doesn't perceive the columns that provide the ratio of -1/7 as curtains. While any of the -dn lock and advanced capture options are ticked, sometimes there was a situation to select the remote element. Does it still continue, or is there a mistake with me? Could you briefly explain what kind of changes were made in 8.5 v regarding the continuous foundations?

I don't know if you wrote 21.50 meters specifically but I couldn't understand what your question indicates. What do you mean by not providing ground floor rigidity, if you add a project, we can give a more accurate answer. As of version 8.5, entering curtains with the colon command has been removed. Enter the curtains with the curtain command.

I couldn't understand the situation you mentioned. Can you add an example where we can see your question on the subject? If you call our Bursa office, we can also look at your question by connecting remotely. Changes made about continuous foundation in 8.5 version: 1- Modeling of rafter raft foundations according to finite elements together with beam, plate and superstructure 2- Making raft foundation by defining continuous foundation only from outer frame 3- Moment shear force diagrams of continuous foundations monitoring without visualization 4- Modeling of continuous foundations as T beams 5- Beam-beam, continuous foundation-continuous foundation, panel-beam etc. Improvement of the element division algorithm according to the bearing-bearing element relationship in partitions 6- General improvements were made regarding column-foundation beam connections related to continuous foundations.

Hello there; The error has been logged. Thank you for providing information. Necessary solution will be produced. Good work.

Hello, I wonder if there is a general problem with the Hol macro. I could not run the element sections that I assigned to the created model. good work.

Hello there; It does not process the section changes, there is an error at the moment. The bug has been reported before. Necessary solution will be produced. Good work.

Good afternoon, is there moment transfer in weak axis in I and H steel columns? Is there a document in the literature stating that Moment transfer is made in the weak axis? Renewal of IMO in Cyprus requests information on this matter. Are all our calculations wrong?

Hello, moment transfer to weak axes of I and H section columns is available in the program. You can define this connection in the program and transfer moment to the weak axis of the column. You can find information on this subject in the literature with 'AISC Stell design guide 13'.

Moment can be transferred to the columns in the weak axis, for this, see AISC Steel Design Guide 13 Appendix D for a suitable connection detail. It should be noted that since the beam will be attached to the column body, this connection detail will be less ductile than the detail to be formed on the column head. and this connection must be manufactured meticulously (especially welds). In addition, since the weak moment carrying capacity of the column is low, it is not recommended to make a connection that transfers a weak moment to the column unless it is very necessary.
