What would you like to have in the ideCAD API

I wish you good work. As you know, most of the foreign origin building design programs contain API (Application Programming Interface). In other words, with a little programming knowledge, you can have certain routines made into the program. I think very useful things can be done with İdecad's powerful interface and analysis engine. I am aware that the subject is very broad. But I'm asking out of curiosity. Does İdecad have a roadmap or a plan in this regard?

Re: İdecad Api We had this type of API in old versions (v5 and earlier), but it was retired because there was no demand and new features were generally requested from the program. If you have any concrete needs/plans that you say "if there was an API, I would program and do this", we would appreciate it if you could describe it.

Re: İdecad Api Considering the engineering quality in our country, it should not be surprising that your API is retired. Even if you try to add it, the number of users across the country will not exceed the fingers of one hand. In short, it's not worth the trouble. However, there are many topics where I can say "if there was an API, I would program and do this". 1-) Automatic project iteration. For example, after entering the general static data (Elements, loads, material definitions, etc.) of a project, the program automatically optimizes the project under the conditions determined by the user (Raft thickness min 50cm, Beam height max 70cm, reinforcement max diameter Ø18 etc.). 2-) Rapid modeling of particularly difficult steel geometries. Do not say that you can do this item through autocad. I mean optimizing the steel by constantly changing the geometry. 3-) Drawing optimization. I wrote one for tekla myself. 4-) Automatic drawing mapping. These are the ones that come to my mind for now. I would like to do something for the first item myself. Since the program is based on net infrastructure, I think c# can be used for api.

* I would add elements such as parapet and beard, which are not included in the analysis, but will be in the drawing and section, even typical reinforcement * I would take the dimensions in xls doemat * Assigning the individual loads of the superstructure to the columns in the form of a list ( G,Q,.., directions... ) I would develop a system that can be entered * I would take the reinforcement list on the sheets as the most used format in the market below

I would also optimize the drawing. I spend a lot of time after getting drawings. If I leave it to the program, a lot of paper is gone, I almost cut it in half.

Greetings, some building geometries are very irregular or the administration has very different requests. There may be situations where we cannot use the drawings that idecad automatically creates in one way or another. Revit can be 3d like tekla or it can be 2d. It would be nice if a module for drawing only, linked to quantity, was released (it can be extra paid). There are amateur, semi-professional, professional companies and people doing this job in the market, but I think Idecad will do this job best. Of course, as soon as I wrote this, I thought whether it should work under Autocad or whether it should be independent. I couldn't find the answer. Yes, ide has 2D drawing possibilities, but I'm talking about something more comprehensive, I'm sure it will be a much more practical and time-saving application than Revit, Allplan.

Hello, Quantity-related only We did not understand what you mean by the module for drawing. Could you elaborate by giving an example? Which offering of Revit do you want added? Which possibility of Tekla do you want added? What do you want to add to the auto-generated drawings? What would you like to have in 2D Possibilities? Good work

- Let's click on the two points of the raft foundation and automatic reinforcement will be placed between the bottom and top overlapping. I will be able to slide stretch on the automatically thrown reinforcements, change the overlap location, and these changes will be automatically reflected in the bill of quantities. Likewise, in irregular structures, the overlaps must be shifted for each reinforcement working range, and the lengths of the reinforcements must be changed and reflected in the table. It should be possible to determine the range for the working ranges of the reinforcement and create an automatic drawing. - Let me determine the rebar overlapping place in the column, the reinforcements will be drawn automatically and reflected in the reinforcement table, or I will not make any overlap. Or I can add a second overlay at any point within the fold. - Let me determine the column stirrup as a lozenge or rectangle (the user determines the side lengths of the rectangle), draw it and it will be reflected in the reinforcement table. - By specifying working distance, diameter and spacing, additional raft reinforcements can be drawn, the drawn reinforcements can be automatically processed into the reinforcement table (Administrators or the project designer may want to standardize the raft additional reinforcements, they may want to standardize the dimensions and diameters based on the middle of the column) - Let me stretch what I want in beam reinforcements, let them delete and Let it be processed automatically in the reinforcement table (For example, additional reinforcements that are very close to each other can be combined and made into a single reinforcement) Or it may be requested to manually intervene on the beams that sit on the curtain, column half or at an angle (the intervened reinforcements should be automatically added to the table, to the quantity) - I can draw columns and beams even if there is no model in the middle ( Let me enter the compaction region, stirrup spacings and dimensions in the opened user interface, let the software handle the rest) - Let me draw stirrups myself in polygon columns, it will automatically reflect on the reinforcement table and the quantity - The reinforcements that I have drawn on secondary elements such as parapet and beard will automatically appear in the reinforcement table v e should be added to the quantity - I will assign additional reinforcements to the places I want on the floors, they will be automatically added to the reinforcement table and to the quantity - Places such as elevator shaft, pump pit must be entered manually even if they are not entered in the model, the reinforcements arranged around the sections should automatically enter the reinforcement table and the quantity These are the ones that come to my mind for now
