In the beam settings ''This beam is the link beam'' What does the option mean? Do we need to activate this option in order to perform the calculation more accurately on beams between two curtains?
"This beam is a tie beam" option means that whatever the length/height ratio is, TBDY 2018 ensures the automatic application of the degree of adherence control in Article 4.5.4. - For beams with a length and height ratio less than 5 (l/h <=5) between two curtains, the program automatically applies the degree of adherence control. You do not need to activate the option. You can see these beams under the title of bond beam degree in the earthquake code general report. - You can select the option if you want the dependency control to be always applied to the beams between two curtains, regardless of the length/height ratio. - According to TBDY 2018 Article 7.6.8, whether cross reinforcement design can be made or not is also dependent on this option. In order to apply "cross reinforcement", the cross reinforcement option must be ticked. To give an example: 1) Beam length is 3 m, height is 0.50 meters, If the option is checked, the degree of adherence is checked. If the option is not checked, no dependency check is made. 2) Beam length is 1 m, height is 0.50 m, option is not checked, the degree of commitment is checked automatically.
