Can we include the beams and columns of the building in the well foundation bulkhead? Would such a design be correct? I have attached as an example. I will be glad if you can help.

Hello. You cannot use the well foundation or retaining wall with the building. The well foundation or retaining wall does not take into account the loads and moments from the building. In addition, IDECAD does not transfer loads and moments to them. Take it easy Unver ÖZCAN

Building elements such as stairs and domes can be integrated into the main model and analyzed together, but retaining structures are analyzed separately. It is understood from the model that; Your need should consist of the curtain that will be with the structure and will also take the lateral soil thrusts. G.KÖSE

However, in practice, in the manufacture of the well foundation, the floors are placed on the stepped curtains of the well foundation. "I still have question marks in my mind and I can't fit it. I couldn't figure out where the slab sits. Is it the level of the well foundation or the column-beam system that we built from the well foundation to the back?

Dear colleague, if you have seen the slab resting on the well foundation wall in practice, this is most likely the connection bridge plate, it should be sitting on both the well foundation wall and the building beam as a simple support, not transferring moment, but only carrying vertical loads. Why is a well foundation made? Let's say you are going to build a building in the city center, facing the main road, with less towing distance, and a basement of 3-4 floors, how will you do the excavation at a depth of 10-12 m without damaging the road? The well foundation application comes into play as an alternative solution, first the well foundations are started to be opened with manpower by surprise, as it gets deeper, it is reinforced with wooden shoring to go down to the lowest level, then an eye well is completed with reinforcement placement and of course concrete casting. After all the wells are finished, excavation is done easily with road safety provided. G.KÖSE
