Hello there; First of all, if there is more than one floor in the project, make sure that the floor you created the beams for which you want to define the secondary beams is open on the screen. In other words, if you entered your beams on the ground floor, do not try to define secondary beams on the 1st floor. You can enter a secondary beam by selecting the first beam and the last beam along the span. It will split automatically. You do not need to enter it for each range. But make sure you are using 8.103. Even if you are on a different floor, the program should not be broken. Precautions have been taken for these situations in previous versions.
