Retaining Calculation Values ( Cu shear Strength, Cd Cohesion )

Hello, in the retaining wall analysis, I have added the sections we will enter together with the soil study in the appendix, it gives cohesion with the internal friction angle in the soil study, but in the analysis program, shear strength (cu), backfill will be filled with the same material, soil slip resistance angle, backfill cohesion coefficient ( cd) asks the user defined friction angle I want to ask 1- what should be the shear strength (cu) 2- if the backfill is the same material, will the cohesion coefficient be Cd=C what should happen if the backfill is gravel 3- friction angle between the soil slip resistance angle and the foundation ground Are the internal friction angles in the ground survey the same concepts?

Re: Retaining Calculation Values ( Cu shear Strength, Cd Cohesion Hello, 1-) If the soil type is determined as cohesive in the soil survey report, it is the undrained shear strength value to be determined as a result of laboratory analysis (triaxial pressure etc.). This value does not matter if the soil type is cohesive. 2-) It is recommended to use granular material for the backfill material. If granular material is to be used, the C value should be zero. If backfilling will be done with the same ground material, the C value can be taken from the cohesion value given in the report. 3-) The friction angle and the internal friction angle of the backfill material are not the same value. If friction is to be considered, it is generally recommended to use this value as half of the internal friction angle. Good work.

Re: Retaining Calculation Values ( Cu shear Strength, Cd Cohesion thank you for answering, but where do we enter the internal friction angle 37.89 in the soil survey, the soil slip resistance angle in the backfill section? or user-defined friction As far as I understand in the backfill properties in these two parts,

Re: Retaining Calculation Values ( Cu shear Strength, Cd Cohesion If the excavated ground will be used as backfill material again, the internal friction angle value in the backfill properties can be entered as in the ground survey report and the user-defined friction angle can be calculated from this value. If the material to be used as backfill will be a different material, these values should be determined by determining the value of the backfill material to be used.
