Regarding Cassette Flooring Design

In the new regulation, cassette flooring is being tried to be made as the construction of hollow block flooring becomes difficult. In cassette flooring, everyone has different interpretations (related administration, construction control, project designers) in design conditions. 1-) Are the Ts500 mentioned bidirectional filled flooring conditions valid for the cassette? 2-) Now everyone is trying to make the hollow blocks look like cassettes by tightening the secondary rib beams (40cm-50cm-60cm) in their hollow block projects. In other words, it throws hollow rib beams in both directions, making it look like a tape. Is this approach correct or not? They say that there is no obstacle to this in the regulation, the conditions of the cassette system, whether it is a TS500 or a regulation, are not clearly explained. 3-) Is there a case of min 70 cm in cassette flooring cassette intervals? 4-) Some engineer friends say that if there is a filling material and it is 70 cm smaller, it should always meet the requirements of the hollow block. There are many more questions on this subject, but these are the ones that come to mind. Cassette laying conditions min. what should it be? Can you explain under which conditions cassette flooring can be accepted or not?

TS500 page 59 section 11.5 11.5 - THREADED FLOORINGS WORKING IN TWO-DIRECTIONS In accordance with the general principles given in Section 11.3, geared floors running in two directions can also be arranged. The principles of structural mechanics should be followed in the structural analysis of such floors, and the rules given in Article 11.3.3 should be followed in the sizing and reinforcement arrangements. TS500 page 49 section 11.3 11.3 - THREADED FLOORINGS WORKING IN ONE DIRECTION 11.3.1 - General Principles Floors consisting of beams with a free spacing not exceeding 700 mm and a thin table are defined as toothed flooring. In this type of flooring, the gap between the teeth can be left or filled with non-bearing filling material. Hollow concrete briquette, hollow terracotta or similar lightweight material should be used as filling material, Figure 11.1. .... and more. If the rules in section 11.3 are followed in both directions, this flooring is considered to be a two-direction toothed flooring, that is, a CASSETTE flooring. In all flooring designs made without complying with these rules, slab system design rules must be followed.

Let me share my own interpretation, I cannot guarantee its accuracy; 1-) Yes, double-sided filled slabs are like cassette slabs in terms of building behavior, so they can be considered as cassette slabs. 2-) If there are beams in both directions (40-50-60 cm.), it is a cassette slab 3-) Yes, the cassette spacing should be minimum 70 cm. When exceeding 70 cm, the beams and slab must be calculated and dimensioned in accordance with the normal frame beam conditions. 4-) The presence or absence of filling material does not change the behavior of the system. (The weight issue is different, the weight may also vary depending on the padding on the floor)
