When I want to solve the system and get a report, there are curtains in the system and the r coefficient is greater than 7. Does it have something to do with the carrier system behavior coefficient in the TDY options tab under the r coefficient analysis settings here? NOTE: r 8 in TDY has been entered. what can i do to solve this problem.
 
Hello, Yes, the R coefficient mentioned in the report is the "Conduit System Behavior Coefficient". If you have a curtain-framed carrier system in your building, you can get a maximum R coefficient of 7 in high ductile structures according to the regulation. I suggest you to review the Earthquake Code Table 2.5 and the related articles under 2.5.2 regarding the selection of the R coefficient.
