Number of Continuous Basic Stirrups

Hello, I have a problem with the number of stirrups in the basics. When the distance between the stirrup arms exceeds 35 cm, the number of stirrups increases. In the default settings, this b number is 40. There is no problem. When the base width exceeds 40 cm, it throws double stirrups, until 105 cm double stirrups should remain, and after 105, 3 stirrups, but it starts to throw 3 stirrups on the 80 cm wide foundation. Even though there is a 23.33 cm interval if we deduct the spacers on the 80 cm basis, I think it switches to 3 stirrups since the program detects 80/2 (stirrup count): 40. I don't understand what I am doing wrong in my settings. I will be glad if you can answer. I wish you good work...

Hello The number of continuous foundation stirrups is determined by the parameter "min.B for double stirrups" in the reinforced concrete continuous foundation parameters. If B < 40 Single stirrup 40 =< B < 80 If Double stirrup 80<= B, 3 stirrups are used. The continuous foundation width is taken into account when applying the parameter. Stirrup arm lengths are not taken into account.

Hello again, the program is as you said yes, but since both ts500 and TBDY2018 constantly design the number of basic stirrups like beams, the definition in the regulation says "the distance between the stirrup arms should be less than 35 cm". Doesn't the arm spacing of the stirrups on which the 80 cm foundation is laid, decrease to 23 in double stirrups?

You can change the parameter depending on the base widths in your project. If your continuous foundations are 80 cm wide and you want to use double stirrups, you can change the B value to 45 cm. Double stirrups are used in the range of 45 <= B < 90 cm. 3 stirrups are used for widths over 90cm.
