1- Can you explain the modal analysis table expressions, data and calculations in a more understandable way? 2- For example, how can I see Tx and Ty (or rotation period) along with the effective period in 1st Mode? 3- In which case should I use Eigen vectors and Ritz vectors, which are among the Mode calculation methods offered as an option by the program? What are the differences?

In modal analysis, periods can be calculated by two different methods. In the first method, the periods are ordered from largest to smallest regardless of their mass participation. This method is the Eiegenvalue method. The second method considers the mass participation of the mod and ranks the mods according to their mass participation. If there is a steel structure addition on the top floor of a multi-storey building, if you calculate such a structure with Ritz vectors, the first modes will be the mode shapes of the multi-storey building. Then the modes related to the steel structure are listed. It is more correct to use Eigenvalue in normal reinforced concrete structures. If you use it in the Ritz, it will not be wrong, most of the time the mods come in the same order. If you have built a flagpole on the top of a 10-storey reinforced concrete structure, you should analyze this structure with ritz vectors. Another example If you have built a structure with steel columns on reinforced concrete shears, again use ritz vectors. Another suggestion would be to solve this structure with ritz vectors instead of increasing the number of modes in a structure where you cannot achieve mass participation rates even though you increase the number of modes.

I would appreciate it if you would touch on the following points: "1- Can you explain the modal analysis table expressions, data and calculations in a better way? 2- For example, how can I see Tx and Ty (or rotation period) with the effective period in the 1st Mode ?"

1. Your question is a general question. There is no modal analysis specific to ideCAD, the general rules of modal analysis apply. It is difficult to give a short answer to your question. A comprehensive technical document is being worked on. You will find this information there when it is finished. Some relevant references

2. This You can access the information by selecting "Analysis system display options", "Deformation", "Combination", "Modal". You can also access the dynamic analysis report from the report menu.

"2- For example, how can I see Tx and Ty (or rotation period) along with the period Effective in 1st Mode?" Purpose of my question: I want the periods in the x and y direction of the construction to be close. If I could see Tx and Ty in the same mode, I would have the chance to make accurate studies about their proximity to each other. When I look at the dynamic analysis report, I cannot see Tx and Ty in the same mode. Or I'm looking in the wrong places or I can't see it. I would be glad if you help.

What do you mean when you say you can't see Tx and Ty in the same mode? If these expressions are periods, you cannot see the periods of both directions in the same mode, there is a period in a mode. But in the same mode you can see modal additions as X , Y and Rotation . There is detailed information in the dynamic analysis report. In this report, there is information that will be useful to you under the heading of modal masses and modal mass participation rates just below.

As far as I understand, the friend says how can I see the periods for the X and Y direction separately in tabular form, in order from largest to smallest. A program does this as well. ide takes the building modes from X, Y and RZ, from largest to smallest, in order, from largest to smallest, and makes a table like that. Actually, this is what is necessary, but the other may be for information.

My goal was to make the building have approximately the same period in the x and y directions. I tried to understand from the dynamic reports of the program, but I started to feel that our questions were starting to bore the Idecad Authorities. Our aim is not to make inquiries or to identify the deficiencies of the program, if any, but to try to understand and ask questions in order to use the program better. The answer to some questions can sometimes be very simple, but sometimes people can't see it because of the mental confusion. How happy we are, and you, when our questions for learning are answered in a way that satisfies the person asking the question with patience and...

International programs such as ideCAD, sap2000 Etabs Midas do it and do it as it should. there is a structure The structure has degrees of freedom and there are masses in these degrees of freedom. Considering these degrees of freedom, dynamic analysis is made and periods are found and response spectrum calculation is made.

Dear User, I don't know if you are a program user. You do not need to be a user to ask questions here. We are not bored. However, sometimes we have difficulty understanding the questions you ask. You ask your question clearly, we will ask you if you are asking this, you answer, and we answer the part that concerns the program. You can ask as many questions as you want and on any subject you want. Except for your questions that require professional construction consultancy, all your questions will be answered.
We will certainly continue to ask questions within the framework of respect and decency[/u]. We will certainly expect answers within the same framework. It will be the most expected situation to be solution-qualified in their answers. It is good to answer questions with solutions. But to shape (restore) the questions asked according to your answer is to move away from answering. I hope it will be a forum where we will encounter a solution, not a restoration.

This forum has been used extensively since 2008 with more than 5000 users. And tens of thousands of questions were answered with a solution. This has always been the case on this forum and will continue to be. ideYAPI provides high-level support to its "users" in terms of forum usage, user training and technical support. This support clearly differentiates ideYAPI from its competitors. We have not "rebuked" any of our users since 1988, for whatever reason. Please do not confuse us with other program companies. We will patiently support you and find solutions. Let me ask you some clear questions. Are you an ideCAD user? Have you received program training? If yes, where and when? Do you benefit from IdeYAPI technical support? Have you read the program's handbook? Are you using the program's help menus? You became a member of the forum on March 15, 2016 and sent 52 messages. This is way above the forum average. I became a member of the forum in 2008 and I have a total of 200 messages.

Dear Sir, I am answering your questions. Can you explain the purpose of these questions? If this will help you and me, I'm happy for you and me.[/ u] Are you an ideCAD user? (I am not a Licensed User, I am using Demo. I am responsible for examining Projects of Licensed Users due to my duty) Have you received program training? (I have benefited from the training videos you have presented on the internet.) If yes, where and when? (On the Internet and whenever I need it) Do you benefit from IdeYAPI technical support? (I was following the forum without being a member. I am following it as a member on March 15, 2016) Do you read the manual of the program? (Yes, constantly, I have read/and am reading the theses of your friends who serve you. Program manuals are not revised as much as the programs themselves, manual explanations We ask you for help when it is not enough for us to understand) Do you use the help menus of the program? (You can be sure that we use the questions before the question. We ask you when the explanations are not sufficient or clear.) You became a member of the forum on 15 March 2016 and sent 52 messages. This forum is way above the average. I became a member of the forum in 2008 and I have a total of 200 messages. What should we understand from this sentence?
