Masonry Analysis

Hi, Masonry type structures can only be modeled so that their analysis can be done. (Controls specified in Section 5 of the Regulation are not performed) Walls can be entered with the panel object, and the gaps in the walls with the door window command. A new material is defined according to the material properties of the masonry structure in the Design Settings/Materials Section. Modulus of elasticity, unit volume weight are regulated accordingly. And it is assigned to the panel object. Good work

Hello. A new material is created with the "New Material" command by pressing the right button on the Design --> Materials in the building tree. The material properties of the load-bearing walls are entered into the properties of this material. In the panel settings, in the Static/Reinforced Concrete tab, the newly created material and the "model as shell" method are selected. While modeling masonry structures, you can model the walls with the panel command. The rules in Chapter 5 of "Earthquake Resistant Design Rules for Masonry Buildings" in the Earthquake Code in ideCAD Static are not controlled by the program. After the analysis in ideCAD Static, the necessary investigations are made by the user by using the effects in the Screen reports.

Thanks for your help, but when I press the add new material button and open the window, there are 3 material options. I mark the other text and enter the values, but it does not appear as static material in the panel object, why?

The use of materials other than concrete is not active. The material type Concrete needs to be selected and the modulus of elasticity and specific mass need to be changed.

When solving the masonry structure, it does not allow drawing beams on the curtain as beams, in this case how do I determine the reinforcement of the beam? Or can we just use the ide-static program to determine the basic reinforcement?

Mr. musamusa As you understand, you want to use the IdeCAD program, which was written for the solution of reinforced concrete buildings, in masonry buildings. (IdeCAD program is very good for reinforced concrete buildings) If the masonry building version of the IdeCAD program is released to get the right solution, then you can reach a comprehensive solution as in reinforced concrete. Therefore, do not use the IdeCAD program written for the solution of reinforced concrete buildings for masonry buildings. If you say that I will solve the masonry building: 1- Sn. prof. Dr. Zekai CELEP has books written on this subject (about masonry buildings to be built in earthquake zones). You can make your calculations by making a few excel spreadsheets by making use of it. 2- Or there is a program that solves only masonry (by taking the books of Prof. Dr. Zekai CELEP as an example), use it. Good luck with. We expect a program from İdeCAD for masonry buildings, with the quality of solution for reinforced concrete buildings (with thanks to those who contributed).

Using ideCAD Static, you can perform analysis of Masonry Structures fully, accurately and safely using shell elements. At least the way programs like sap2000 Etabs do. These programs do not perform regulation checks either.
