Hello there ; In a project I am doing, I have to press the column to the beam on the last floor. but the columns (s15-s16-s17 - 5th FLOOR) give an error and give excessive reinforcement outside the standard, what should I do about it. Can you take a look at my project.. Good work.. project --

Re: COLUMN BASED SOLUTION First of all, I would definitely not build such a system especially in 1st degree earthquake zones . But I can say that you made a mistake as a data entry. First of all, there is an empty 6th floor, I don't know why, I just remind you. If it doesn't make sense, it should be deleted. Let's come to the method of drawing a column on the beam: Although the system seems to be established when viewed from the three-dimensional screen, 3D frame and deformation does not appear at the junction of the column and beamnode[ /u] will be observed. So how should data entry be? Namely: enter an axis system on the upper floor at the point where the nodal point of the column that will press the beam is. Then copy this axis system to the lower floor and determine the place there. When constructing the beam on the lower floor, draw a piece up to the bottom of the column and a separate piece after it so that a nodal point is formed. (Let the names of these two parts be the same) In this way, data entry is a correct data entry. If there is no problem in your data entry, the general report of the earthquake code states b3 type irregularity. The program increases the loads 50% automatically in elements with b3 type irregularities. In the static results section of the column and beam reports for the beams in question, B3 irregularity increased by 50% is written. Review your other mistakes as well. I do not think that there are enough columns in your system or that the column beam system is sufficient. Pay particular attention to the 3-A axis intersection point you made in the basement. I would like to remind you that the columns that you dared to put on the beams upstairs should also be placed under the beams with the same generosity, without fear, downstairs. I don't think you should give such a premium to those who force you. After all, it may be you who are punished, not them. With love....

Re: COLUMN BASED ON BEAM SOLUTION Hello, My advice is to turn some curtains into columns and add columns to the axles with K17 and K22 beams. In this case, there will be cantilevered beams on the 5th floor. I guess you can solve the system semi-rigidly this way. Good work
