Is the definition of free-top column valid in semi-rigid solution?

Chapter 15 Compliance of the Program with the 2007 Earthquake Code It is one of our greatest responsibilities as users to act within the limits of their capabilities and to take into account their warnings. This information is shared for this purpose.

Re: Compliance of the program with the Earthquake Code Hello, These statements that you marked in the picture you attached have lost their validity. The document you mentioned will be checked in this sense, this statement will be removed from the document and corrected. The user does not have to make such a definition. In both versions 7 and 8 ideCAD automatically recognizes all elements that are connected to the slab or not. The definition of "free column at the top" is a data entry facility from very old versions, it was removed in 8. Regardless of whether rigid diaphragm or semi-rigid diaphragm is selected, the operation is automatically understood from version 7 onwards. Since this command is unnecessary in 8 versions, it was removed from the program and its removal was skipped in the user manual. In summary, it is unnecessary to use this command in version 7. Version 8 does not already have this command. Thanks for your report.
