Identification of the tie beam

Hello idecad family. I have a question, I will define a tie beam on a one-way continuous foundation or a single foundation. Is it healthier to define this tie beam from column to column when operating this link, or is it healthier to connect it from foundation to foundation?

Re: BINDING BEAM DEFINITION If what is mentioned here is in terms of jeans, it is more correct to connect it from foundation to foundation. One of the main objectives of the tie beams is to ensure that the foundation blocks resist earthquake forces in integrity. Therefore, they need to be connected from the ground up to the foundation. Link beams are subject to both tension and compression. For this reason, it is inconvenient to connect it at the column lines. It can create a cutting effect at the bottom of the column. If it is the question of how far it will extend, the answer should be from column to column. That is, the reinforcements must continue through the foundation and extend to the column. Even if not in this way, the reinforcements should extend into the foundation at least as long as the clamping length, and their stirrups should be placed. N. YILMAZ

How to define tie beams is given in TD2007. Link beams do not take moment, they are designed only according to axial force and they are made at any level from the column base to the bottom of the foundation. (They are not connected to the column)
