I cannot use the Merabalar.earthquake isolator command. Right click on any column and say define earthquake monitor, select an isolator from the screen that opens, determine its position and say ok, then the bottom command line writes column edge or column select. When you select the same column, the isolator selection screen opens again. I couldn't do a tour can you help me

Hello, when the isolator is selected in the Earthquake isolator dialog and the dialog is exited by saying OK, the isolator is defined for the column. The "choose column or column edge" message that appears in the information box asks you to select a new column If you do not want to continue the process, you can exit the command by pressing the Esc key or clicking the Cancel line from the right-click menu. You can see from the analysis model and the structure tree whether an isolator has been defined to the column. Good work

First of all, thank you for your answer. I want to ask one more thing. For example, in the picture I have uploaded below, there is the screen that appears when we click on the post-analysis structure section. here is the connection of a cross to a beam. What I want to ask here is, when we look at the picture, there are two moment-like signs where the junction is. does this mean that this joint is a rigid (recessed) joint that transmits a moment, that is, works to the moment? We draw this conclusion. by the way, the join here is the classic cross-end join in the program's default settings.

Hello there; I understand that you are asking about the meaning of the green and blue representations. The cross-end joint is a moment-free joint, so a mathematical model is created to ensure that M2 and M3 moments (green and blue) are not formed. Angle joint, single slip plate joint, etc., which come with similar notation sub-beams. It is also present in the joints and it means that the joint point does not transmit moment, it is slipped. When the analysis imaging is turned on, these signs are not seen in connections such as bolted joint with header plate, joint with beam-column lap plate, joint with butt plate, unstabilized 4-bolt joint. In this case, the node transmits torque. For checking, you can look at the M3 value from the post-analysis frame results. Good work.

I understand, Ms. Nurgul, then it is the exact opposite of what I said. If there are blue and green moment symbols, our combination will not transmit moment, it will be in the form of sliding support. It will be a bit of an off-topic question, but (as someone who has watched almost all of your videos on youtube) what would you recommend as an advice when deciding whether to transfer momentum or not in the combinations we will choose while modeling the structure. For example, in the following cases, non-moment-transmitting joints are recommended, and in these cases, moment-transmitting joints are recommended.

training, moment transferring frame, central crossed frame and The features, advantages and disadvantages of eccentric braced frames are mentioned. I recommend you take a look. The use cases of sliding connections are due to the philosophies of these different carrier systems. In fact, this problem will be eliminated with the establishment of the basic logics of the carrier systems. Apart from the training video, Prof.Dr. It will be useful for you to review Erdoğan Uzgider's Steel Structures book. In the book, there are different topics such as combinations and roof and truss systems. Although the regulation for which the book performs detailed calculations is TS 648, you can find answers to different questions such as the choice of carrier system, the features of these systems, what should be done in the junction areas. Good workc
