Program ideCAD Static Version 7.x Topic: Determining the rigid floor number Determining the rigid floor number Open the Floor General Settings dialog. In this dialog, type the value in the N column of your floor that you think is rigid in the Upper rigid floor number box in the Analysis Settings/TDY Options section. If you do not have any rigid floors, write the lowest number that is not in the floor general settings in this box. If you have more than one rigid floor, it is sufficient to write the value in the N column of the top rigid floor. The program automatically accepts this floor and any floors below it as rigid. Conditions that may be encountered while determining the rigid floor number While entering data in the program, you may encounter five different situations regarding the rigid floor number. These; 1) The case where there is no basement in the building. 2) The building has a basement but it is not rigid. 3) If the building has a basement floor and is rigid. 4) If there is more than one rigid basement floor in the building. 5) The case of having a rigid floor in only one direction in the building. In these cases, the following examples will explain what to do in the program. 1) The situation where there is no basement in the building In this example, what should be done in the program in a Z+2 storey building will be explained. In the structure we created, the bottom floor number appears as 0 in the floor general settings (Picture 1). As seen in Picture 2, there is no rigid floor in our building. In this state, you should write a floor number that is not at the bottom in the X/Y lines of the Upper rigid basement floor number in the Analysis Settings/TDY Options tab in our structure. Since the first non-existent number is -1, -1 value is written in this example as can be seen in Picture 3. Picture 1 Picture 2 Picture 3

2) The building has a basement but it is not rigid In this example, what should be done in a B+Z+2 storey building will be explained in the program. In the structure we have created, the number of the lowest floor appears as -1 in the floor general settings (Picture 4). As seen in Picture 5, there is no rigid floor in our building. In this state, you should write a floor number that is not at the bottom in the X/Y lines of the Upper rigid basement floor number in the Analysis Settings/TDY Options tab in our structure. Since the first floor number that does not exist is -2, the value -2 is written in this example, as can be seen in Picture 6. Picture 4 Picture 5 Picture 6

3) If the building has a basement and is rigid In this example, the program will explain what to do in a B+Z+2 storey building. In the building we created, the bottom floor number appears as -1 in the floor general settings (Picture 7). As seen in Picture 8, we have one rigid floor in our building. In this state, you should write the value written in the N column of the lowest floor in the X/Y lines of the upper rigid basement floor number in the Analysis Settings / TDY Options tab in our structure. 1. Since there is -1 in the N column of our floor named BODRUM, -1 value is written in Picture 9 in this example. Picture 7 Picture 8 Picture 9

4) The case of having more than one rigid basement floor in the building In this example, the program will explain what to do in a 3B+Z+2 storey building. In the structure we created, the bottom floor number appears as -3 in the floor general settings (Picture 10). As seen in Picture 11, we have three rigid floors in our building. In this state, you should write the value written in the N column of the top rigid floor in the X/Y lines of the Upper rigid basement floor number in the Analysis Settings/TDY Options tab in our structure. Since -1 is in the N column of our floor named BODRUM, -1 value is written in this example, as can be seen in Picture 12. Thus, the floor named 1st BODRUM and the other floors below are considered as rigid floors by the program. Picture 10 Picture 11 Picture 12

5) The case of having a rigid floor in only one direction in the building In this example, the program will explain what to do in a B+Z+2 storey building. In the structure we created, the bottom floor number appears as -1 in the floor general settings (Picture 13). As seen in Picture 14, we have curtains in the Y direction, we do not have curtains in the X direction. In this state, you should write the floor number that is not the lowest in the X rows of the Upper rigid basement floor number in the Analysis Settings / TDY Options tab in our structure, and the value written in the N column of the top rigid floor in the Upper rigid basement number Y row. As seen in Picture 15, the value -2 in the X direction and -1 in the Y direction is written. Thus, the floor named 1st BODRUM is accepted as a rigid floor in the Y direction in the calculations, and it is accepted that it is not rigid in the X direction. Picture 13 Picture 14 Picture 15

Checking the rigid floor number from the reports After the analysis is completed in the program, the way to check the rigid basement floor number is to look at the optional reports. Generate the report from the Report/Optional Reports line. Open the Building General Information report in the report that comes before you (Picture 16). If the number written in the Rigid Basement Number line under the Building Geometric Information title coincides with the rigid pipe floor number you envisaged for your project, it means you have correctly determined the rigid basement floor number.
