Design Axial Load 17.98 whereas there are larger axial loads

Good day everyone. I could not understand why the axial design force was 17.98. There is a higher axial load from different combinations. Could this have something to do with the capacity diagram? Does the reinforcement calculate according to this value or does it calculate according to the largest value from the other combination? I would be very happy if you explain that the combination that gives the greatest moment value gets the axial load value.

Re: Design Axial Load 17.98 whereas larger axial loads Higher axial force in other combinations does not mean that that combination is less favorable. On the contrary, a low axial force and a large Mx My always give a more negative result. The column design (design) is calculated for all combinations one by one with the N Mx and My values of that combination. The combination that gives the largest reinforcement area (As) is the design combination. And the Design influences are the N Mx My values of this combination.

Re: Design Axial Load 17.98 whereas larger axial loads First of all, thanks for your nice answer, but there is a situation that I can't understand, what is the reason for designing here as the picture shows, then. it seems. is attached what i said.

Re: Design Axial Load 17.98 whereas larger axial loads Upload images directly to the forum. I could not view the pictures. If you upload project data, you will get a more accurate response. Ask your questions more concretely. Ask your question by explaining it on the screen shot. For example, water is writing design on the screen, say I don't understand why it is writing design.

Re: Design Axial Load 17.98 whereas larger axial loads My Question in Brief is which combination is selected in the column reinforced concrete calculation results in the Column Reports. Because there are other combinations that give a higher value than the selected combination, for example, for md2. Where I put it in red in the image, it says design: 0.9G-EX1/Alt. Why this combination was taken as a design combination and the values from this combination were entered in the column reinforced concrete calculation results. The column I mentioned in the project is the s007 column on the ground floor.

Re: Design Axial Load 17.98 whereas larger axial loads The answer to your question is below;
The column design (design) is done for all combinations one by one with the N Mx and My values of that combination. The combination that gives the largest reinforcement area (As) is the design combination. And the Design influences are the N Mx My values of this combination. A greater axial force in other combinations does not mean that that combination is less favorable. On the contrary, a large Mx My with low axial force always gives a more negative result.
