For example, can we directly convert a column element drawn as 30/210 to a curtain element? Or do we have to delete it and draw it as a curtain element?
The element entered with the column object is a rod element. By curtain you mean curtain If it is reinforcement conditions, the program automatically looks at the 1/7 ratio and automatically applies TDY panel conditions. It is possible to model the element entered with the panel object as both a bar and a shell. If you want to model the element drawn as a column as a shell, you need to delete it and re-enter it."izmirlimuhendis":y65l6vlx" said:For example, can we convert a column element drawn as 30/210 directly to a curtain element? That's right..."abaci09" :y65l6vlx" said:aspect ratio is 7 and the program is already calculating it as a panel. I know.
What you wrote is correct, but the option to spread the foundation point for the bar element is also available in the Analysis Settings dialog. Let's note this as well. It acts like a shell on the screen and load transmission is from multiple points, while in the column, load transmission is from one point This has a negative effect on the foundations.
It is possible to do it by deleting and re-entering."levent":y65l6vlx" said:Hi, Column is modeled as a rod element and curtain is as a shell element, so in case of a transformation, the connection points of the beams stuck to the relevant column in the model need to be changed. As far as I can see, ide does not yet do such an operation. There is no such feature in the Transform menu.
True, but modeling the element as a bar/shell does not make a significant difference mathematically if the curtains have a large aspect ratio and there are no door/window openings (for example, for elements such as 25/175, 30/210)."levent":y65l6vlx" said:The column element is designed as a curtain when it exceeds 1/7 ratio, but I don't think it will give realistic results as a shell element since the curtain is modeled as a single rod in static and dynamic analysis. Good work.
