Cassette Upholstery and Filler

Hello. I would like to bring up a topic that has been discussed in the forum before. When I examine the titles that have been opened, I wonder how the information has settled down and how the practices have taken shape in the past, thinking that there may be comments written without being sufficiently sure, probably because the regulation was just released at that time. The issue I would like to clarify is this: In our regulation, can a filling material be used in double sided toothed floors provided that the tooth spacing does not exceed 70 cm, and is it obligatory to meet the requirements (such as 75% curtain ratio) for unidirectional gear floors when used? If there is or not, please indicate which article it is based on.

Hi, in TBDY 4.3.4.3 article, there are limitations for filled or unfilled unidirectional threaded floors. Table 4.1. information is given in the same way. Two-way threaded floors can be solved under the same conditions as joist floors. Determine the ductility level and structural system type by selecting "Beamed or Cassette Slabs" as the flooring type in the TBDY 2018 Analysis settings wizard.

Thank you. According to the regulation article, it is stated that double-sided toothed floors are subject to the same conditions as beamed floors, whether filled or unfilled, and in the use of formwork, "when the tooth spacing exceeds 70 cm, it is considered beamed slab, formwork will be used; When tooth spacing is =<70 cm, it can be filled as toothed flooring.'' Am I interpreting it correctly?

Yes, if the tooth spacing exceeds 70cm, model your project with secondary beams and floors. It can be modeled as a cassette if the tooth spacing is max 70cm. It can be used with or without filling. In both models, I recommend solving the analysis using the semi-rigid diaphragm model.
