Are Sub-Foundation Piles Suitable for TBDY 2018?

Good work everyone. The design supervisor is required by our district administration for our projects that require foundation piles. They attribute these requests to article G of TBDY 2018 1.3.2. section. In this clause, the regulation says "nonlinear structure-pile-soil interaction calculations in the time history domain" are subject to the design supervisor. 16C.4.1. talks about the cases where we can do our pile calculations with method III and in the pile calculation part linear analysis My main question is, does Idecad calculate the sub-foundation pile analysis according to the method III in the 16th chapter of TBDY 2018? If it has not been adapted to the new regulation yet, will it be adapted in the upcoming updates? and get stuck with the design supervisor thing?

Hello, if your building satisfies the conditions a and b in Method 3, you can do linear calculations. It is clearly written in article 16.10.1.3 that only you or the owner of the building may request otherwise.

Thanks for your answer. The projects I have done The method meets the conditions of 3. But, is the pile foundations I made with Idecad solved according to this method or has it not been updated yet? Because I will appeal to the authorized administration on the basis of this, that you do not need to supervise the design. Currently, they do not accept the pile project I made with Idecad.

The sub-foundation piles modeled and calculated with ideCAD are Suitable for TBDY 2018 The method referred to as Method III is one of the methods to be used in case of using a subsystem. Paragraph 16.10.1.3 begins with ... within the framework of the subsystem approach and defines Method I, Method II and Method III in this paragraph. If you are using a common system approach, you have no business with these methods. Within the scope of ideCAD Regulation 16.10.1.2, the building soil pile interaction calculation is made with the (a) common system approach. This calculation method is a system suitable for both linear analysis and nonlinear analysis. And just because there are stakes, it doesn't require supervision. In principle, the subsystem approach only allows the linear approach, but there is a permit in the regulation that it can also be used for nonlinear behavior in very special cases. In summary, while the Subsystem approach can only be used in linear calculation, the Common system approach is valid for both linear and nonlinear analysis. You shall not calculate nonlinear soil structure pile interaction in the time history. You do not need to get consultancy from the design supervisor. Issues that require a design supervisor are listed in paragraph 1.3.2 of the regulation.

Thank you very much, Mr. Ismail. I will present your answer to the municipality as evidence.
