Additional Eccentricity Boost

Hello everyone, I would like to ask my dear colleagues about an issue that has been bothering me for a few days. Under the title of DBYBHY 2007 Equivalent Earthquake Load Method, it is stated that when the torsional irregularity coefficient is greater than nbi=1.2, we should increase the additional eccentricity value of 0.05 with (nbi/1,2)^2. Do we need to do this in the Mod Combine Method as well? I was doing it until now, but I got the impression that it wasn't necessary.

Hi, Additional Eccentricity Increment should be applied in the mode combining method as well. Good work... KEMAL YALVAÇ

Hello Mr. Kemal, As I said, I have always looked at the increase calculation, but I think that there is no need for additional eccentricity increase, since more than one mode is taken into account in the Mode Combination Method and there are torsion modes in them.

Hi, 5% additional eccentricity is applied in both methods. When nbi=1.2 is greater than (nbi/1,2)^2, increasing the additional eccentricity value of 0.05 is only a sanction in the equivalent earthquake load method. Therefore, it does not need to be implemented.

The regulation does not say that it will be applied in the mode combining method. Therefore, it does not need to be applied.
