About performance analysis

Greetings, I am working on a performance analysis and retrofitting project for the 1979 tower located in the 1st degree earthquake zone with a dimension of 13.5*15.5 m and a height of 68 m. In accordance with the 7th chapter, I made data entry on the necessary samples and projects. Then I added reinforcement curtains to reduce the construction period. I made sheathing on some of the columns based on the effect capacity ratio. Referring to the 7th section, I made the reinforced concrete analysis by making the structural system behavior coefficient 1 in the analysis tab, then I got my performance analysis done and reached the targeted performance. In my reinforcement curtains, max. When I got the price warnings, I needed some research. I saw that changing the behavior of the structural system from the Analysis tab in the program user guide and training videos has no effect on the performance analysis. I saved it as a different without making any structural changes and solved it by changing the behavior of the carrier system from the Analysis menu to 8. passed into a state of emigration. In the link below, there are static file and performance analysis reports for 2 different situations.

Hello My suggestions; --Assuming that you have determined the concrete values and irons according to the earthquake regulations, --But I still don't think it will provide high ductility, --You have solved the calculations with high ductility and R=1, it's not true, --If you take the ductility high, it should be R=8, - -If it were me, I would buy R=4 for normal ductility, --I don't recommend sheathing on columns, --column beam junction is very problematic, --I recommend taking horizontal forces with shear walls, --thickness in column sheathing is 10 cm less, make it at least 15 Concrete casting will be difficult even in thickness, --Don't forget to check the foundation, --Make the connection details very carefully after calculation. Take it easy Unver ÖZCAN

Mr. Unver, Thank you for your interest. I couldn't understand what you mean when you say column beam connections are troublesome. However, my problem is different. Based on what I wrote above, I could not understand whether the program is experiencing a break in the analysis in my file, whether the situation is general. According to the user manual, the analysis tab r coefficient should not affect anything. Best regards.

Mr. Ünver, Thank you for your interest. I could not understand what you mean when you say that the column-beam connections are troublesome. However, my problem is different. Based on what I wrote above, I could not understand whether the program has a break in the analysis in my file, is the situation in general. According to the analysis tab, the r coefficient should not affect anything. However, in my calculation file, I see that my analysis was affected and even though I increased the r coefficient, I saw that it went from life safety to collapse. Regards.
Hello, In the project, there are beams, columns, column jackets and curtains whose reinforcement is not fixed. For this reason, in case of analysis according to R=1 and R=8, element capacities will be calculated differently in the performance analysis, since there is a change in the reinforcements. This will change the element performance levels. Open the Tower-R1.ide7 project. In the reinforced concrete dialogs, beams, columns whose reinforcement is not fixed , fix the column jacket and shear reinforcements Analysis and performance according to R=1 and R= 8, respectively Analyze s. It will be seen that the results of the performance analysis are the same. Good work
