About Beam Reinforcements

Hello Ide family. There is a situation that is stuck in my mind. I'm dealing with a structure with smooth geometry like the one below.

The combination used by the program for the span reinforcement is 1.4G + 1.6Q and the moment value from the relevant combination is 1.623tm, 1.744m However, when looking at the reinforced concrete design envelope from the Analysis display options, 2tm of the same marked moment appears in the same place. In fact, there is a moment of 4-5 tons in more distant places where the support reinforcements cannot reach.

The same is true for mounting accessories. Shouldn't the program have taken these forces into account when calculating reinforced concrete? In order to reduce the size of the relevant project, I solved and added it as fully rigid. You can solve it semi-rigidly and examine it. I wish you good work.

According to the earthquake regulation 2007, 3.4.3.1 (a) both mounting reinforcement and sub-rebar reinforcement must be 1/4 of the reinforcement in the support. We have already placed 2Fi16 assembly and 3Fi14 flat reinforcement in this beam of yours. The beam span capacity calculated by considering these reinforcements provides the moments in the reinforced concrete design envelope, both negative and positive. The value set as tension reinforcement in the opening is 4.62 cm2 at the bottom and 4.02 cm2 at the top. This value is much higher than that calculated for the 1.4G+1.6Q ( 1.623 tfm) torque calculated in the span. It also provides the 5.6 tm envelope moments you mentioned. These capacities are controlled in 9 newly prepared versions. K14 Beam Reinforcements: K14 Beam Fiber element cross section; K14 Positive capacity control in the span of the beam (Drawing at the bottom): K14 Negative capacity control of the beam in the span (drawing at the top): K14 Positive capacity of the Beam Spacing based on the performance (Drawing at the bottom)

Ismail Bey, I have been an Idecad user for many years. My goal is to help the program get better with the feedback it receives from us users. In this regard, İdecad is quite good compared to its counterparts. Many features that its counterparts have just added have been used in Idecad for years. It also has an active forum and a well-run team. In summary; Yesterday I looked at manual beam reinforcements. As you said, it is at a level to carry the moments in the design envelope. The minimum reinforcements set in accordance with the regulation requirement are sufficient. As far as I understand, the program only uses the combination of 1.4G + 1.6Q for beam span. However, I would like the program to consider these forces for the aperture reinforcement control. Because, albeit with a low probability, depending on the condition of the structure, the beam span moment (both bottom and top) may exceed the requirement of 1.4G + 1.6Q combination and support reinforcement. I was happy to learn that this problem will disappear with version 9. I wish you success in your work.
